Maple Cinnamon Coffee (Hot and Iced!) (2024)

Looking for another easy coffee recipe to add to your morning rotation? It’s time for maple cinnamon coffee!

Since the flavors of maple and cinnamon are associated with fall, this is one I add to my morning rotation when the weather turns colder.

I’m also sharing an iced version for those early fall days that still feel like summer. (Though, I’ll admit I drink cold brew coffee all year round no matter the weather!)

Maple Cinnamon Coffee Ingredients

  • Maple Cinnamon Coffee (Hot and Iced!) (2)
  • Maple Cinnamon Coffee (Hot and Iced!) (3)
  • 2-4 ounces espresso or ½ cup regular coffee (I used Kicking Horse Smart Ass whole bean coffee)
  • ⅛ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1-2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1 cup milk or milk alternative
  • Whipped cream (optional)
  • Milk frother

Espresso

For my coffee recipes, I like using whole bean coffee and grinding the beans myself with my Hario Skerton Grinder for the freshest beans possible.

I used Kicking Horse Smart Ass whole bean coffee. Kicking Horse is a Canadian coffee company. All their coffee is certified organic and fair trade, each with various cheeky names. Smart Ass is a medium roast that’s a bit sweet and chocolatey.

I made the coffee using a moka pot but you can use any method you prefer.

Ground cinnamon

Ground cinnamon doesn’t dissolve into coffee. So to get the cinnamon flavor in coffee, all you need to do is add a pinch or two of ground cinnamon to your coffee grounds before brewing.

I’ve done this in a Keurig, French press, moka pot and even for cold brew coffee and it’s an easy and delicious way to get that cinnamon flavor in.

Maple syrup

I just used whatever maple syrup I already had at home. You can find maple syrup on Amazon too.

Milk

You can use whole milk, skim milk or any milk alternative you prefer.

Here, I used almond milk. I tend to use barista blends for my coffee recipes. If you’ve tried frothing milk alternatives like oat or almond milk, you know it just isn’t the same as using whole milk.

So these barista blended milk alternatives are formulated to froth like regular milk.

Whipped cream/topping

I topped my maple cinnamon coffee with whipped cream and sprinkled some more ground cinnamon on top.

If you have a milk frother and it’s already out from steaming the milk in it, you can put in a little extra milk and set your milk frother to a foamed milk setting to top off your cup.
