Live updates: 2024 Women's College World Series (2024)

The Red River Rivalry will play out on the biggest stage of college softball June 5-6/7 as Oklahoma and Texas face off in the 2024 WCWS final. This matchup is the second time in two decades that the top two seeds are in the WCWS final. This will be the teams' fifth matchup this year — they're both 2-2 against each other in 2024, with Texas taking the regular season series 2-1 and OU sniping the Big 12 title in May.

Oklahoma is headed to its seventh WCWS finals in eight seasons with a walk-off home run by senior Jayda Coleman. In a 2-1 count, Coleman swatted the ball over the left field wall for the win over Florida, 6-5. Oklahoma's win sets up the Red River Rivalry as the Sooners face Texas in the championship final at 8 p.m. ET tomorrow.

Oklahoma tied the game at 5-5 in the sixth, and neither team capitalized in the seventh, pushing this game to extra innings. What's on the line? OU's four-peat and Florida's first finals appearance since 2017.

A two-out RBI single by Ella Parker knots this game at 5-5. Oklahoma attempts to walk it off in the seventh, while Florida will try to force extras. Stay tuned.

Cydney Sanders knocked a two-run sinker to centerfield, cutting OU's deficit to one run. The Gators lead 5-4 at the top of the fifth.

Reagan Walsh let another HR fly in the third, tallying Florida's third homer of the day and bringing the score up 5-2. Oklahoma looks to capitalize once more in the bottom of the fourth.

It's a battle of the bats in OKC today. In the same fashion as the first two scores, UF'sAriel Kowalewski sent a ball yard with one up. The Gators double their score and lead 4-2 in the bottom of the second.

The Sooners hand it right back to the Gators. With Tiare Jennings on second, Ella Parker knocked a homer to deep center field to knot the score at 2-2. Buckle up softball fans, this is just the first inning.

With one up and one out, Jocelyn Erickson sent a long ball over the right field stands to bring in two runs in the opening inning. It was Erickson's 15th home run of the season and second of this year's WCWS. UF leads 2-0.

Oklahoma takes on Florida in a winner-takes-all semifinal game Tuesday at 2 p.m. ET on ESPN. Florida forced the if-necessary game on Monday night, besting the Sooners 9-3 and breaking their 20-game WCWS win streak. Click here for the full bracket.

The Longhorns eliminate Stanford in a goose chase for home plate.

With two runners in scoring position and no outs in the 7th, Ashton Maloney bunted the ball to the circle. In a 1-2-5 play, baserunner Alyssa Washington was caught at third base and raced home with third base player River Mahler running after her with the ball for the tag. Mahler underhanded the ball to Ava Gall (C) as Washington slid face-first to home plate, just in time. The Longhorns advance to their second WCWS finals in three years with a 1-0 win over Stanford in the semis.

Aces NiJaree Canady and Teagan Kavan each totaled seven strikeouts in tonight's pitching showcase.

A couple of webgems and strikeouts and we're already three innings through. Stanford has tallied 1 hit to Texas' 2 in this Canady vs. Kavan pitcher's duel. Both aces have struck out one and allowed no walks through the opening three innings.

The Cardinal and Longhorns face off tonight in the WCWS semifinals at 7 p.m. ET. In the double elimination format, undefeated, top-seeded Texas needs one win to advance to the finals, while Stanford must force an if-necessary game and win two in a row to stay alive. Here are tonight's starters:

Florida avoided elimination by handing Oklahoma the heftiest offensive effort the Sooners have seen in the postseason in four years. The Gators loaded up four homers, including Kenra Falby's insane inside-the-park HR, tallying nine runs to OU's three to break Oklahoma's 20-game WCWS win streak. The two play tomorrow in a winner-takes-all if-necessary game, with a ticket to the WCWS finals on the line.
