Peach Cobbler with Cake Mix could not be any simpler to make! All it takes is a cake mix + peaches + a can of soda. Delicious and easy peach cobbler recipe!

Can you make peach cobbler with a cake mix?

Yes! It’s one of my favorite ways to make peach cobbler! Peach Cobbler is the way to use up all of those fresh peaches. I used to make this delicious but way-too-time-consuming Peach Cobbler recipe each year. It was so good, but honestly I dreaded making it! I kept hearing about a really easy Peach Cobbler recipe that uses cake mix and a can of soda. I adore my Country Apple Dumplings that also use a can of soda as the base, so I knew I had to try it. The verdict? Oh my it’s so easy and personally, I think it’s just as delicious as the time-consuming cobbler!

Which Cake Mix do you use in Peach Cobbler?

There are several different options regarding which cake mix you can use in this peach cobbler recipe. Most people use a yellow, butter or white cake mix. Spice Cake mix tastes like heaven and you can omit the cinnamon on top- that way it’s just 3 ingredients and so fast & easy! I’ve used cake mixes with pudding and without- it really does work either way. I think the leftovers are better if you use a cake mix without pudding. Just a personal preference though.

How to make Peach Cobbler with Cake Mix

Making this peach cobbler is incredibly simple! You can use either fresh or canned peaches- even frozen peaches that have been slightly thawed. Spray a 9×13 glass dish with non-stick spray, then add the peaches to the pan. Sprinkle the cake mix on top, then pour a can of lemon lime soda over the cake mix. It will fizz and bubble while you preheat the oven. Sprinkle a bit of cinnamon on top, then bake the cobbler for 1 hour. Top with vanilla ice cream of course!

Fresh or Canned Peaches?

You’ll need about 5-6 cups of peaches for peach cobbler. You can use fresh peaches, just be sure to peel the peaches beforehand. Canned peaches work too! You’ll need two large 24 ounce cans of peaches, drained.

How to peel peaches

A simple way to peel peaches is to submerge RIPE peaches in boiling water for about 15-20 seconds. The peel will literally slide right off! Peaches that aren’t quite as ripe may require a little more effort in getting the peel off, but it’s still a lot easier!

Ingredients

  • 1 box Spice cake mix
  • 12 oz can of lemon lime soda
  • 6 cups peaches Use about two 24-oz cans drained peaches

Instructions

  • Peel and slice fresh peaches into chunks (or drain canned peaches). Place into a 9×13 pan that’s been sprayed with non-stick spray.

  • Sprinkle cake mix directly on top of peaches. Use a spoon {or your hand like me!} to gently press the cake mix down into the peaches.

  • Pour the can of soda on top. Make sure you pour it all over the cake mix, attempting to cover it completely.

  • Now preheat your oven to 350 degrees. The cobbler will just sit and bubble around for a few minutes while the oven is preheating. This is good!

  • Bake cobbler for 1 hour. Remove from oven and let cool for about 5 minutes. Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or top with whipped topping! ENJOY!

Optional additions to peach cobbler with a cake mix:

I think this peach cobbler is fantastic on its own but adding something sounds good too! I think adding 1/4 cup of chopped pecans is a good idea. Topping the baked cobbler with vanilla ice cream is heavenly, but butter pecan ice cream would be delicious too. Add a drizzle of caramel to the top- wow!
