Having two sons is fantastic. But I do miss out on a lot of the ‘girly’ things. So when I get an opportunity to do it, I do it big! Especially when it involves things I love – in this case: themed entertaining and my niece.
A Disney Princess bridal shower. Yes, please!
We are definitely a Disney family. My husband has been a huuuuuge Dis-nerd for as long as I’ve known him. And my appreciation has grownsignificantly over the years for all things Disney. We even focused our homeschool studies around a trip to Disney World several years ago. Awe-some!
First Impression
I love for guests to get a little taste of what’s in store for them even before they come inside. So just outside the front door, they were greeted by this“Be Our Guest” sign.
My genius husband also created “Wanted” posters like the ones from Tangled with the groom’s picture. Just like in the movie, each one had a different nose. He made several different posters that we hung around the house, and this one, for guests to see as they walked up the drive.
Disney Princess bridal shower decor
Because this was a bridal shower, not a little girl’s birthday party, I wanted to avoid having actual princesses in the decorations.
I was going for more of a nod toward each princess.
The first thing I did was buy satin fabric that was reminiscent of various princess dresses to use on the tables.
Lavender for Rapunzel, light blue for Cinderella, pink for Sleeping Beauty, yellow for Belle and green sequins for Ariel.
Sleeping Beauty and Ariel were each assigned a guest table. Ariel’s table got shells and a dinglehopper and Sleeping Beauty’s a ribbon and flowers.
Rapunzel and Cinderella split the buffet table. I added some décor to each side specific to the character. A wire pumpkin for Cinderella and a lantern and some flowers for Rapunzel.
Belle had the dessert table all to herself. I got two fabrics for her “skirt”, a yellow satin underlay with yellow tulle on top. I gathered and pinned it up in places, to give the effect of her dress. (By the way, I cannot WAIT to see thelive action version of Beauty and the Beast!)
Aside from the “Wanted” posters around the house, the ladies room had a reminder for each guest:
I printed mine in blue, because it matched my bathroom. I’ve included several other colors for you to choose from.

Princess bridal shower menu
If you’ve seen Tangled(which happens to be the bride’s favorite) you’ll understand why we had to have a large cast iron skillet to house our spinach artichoke dip.
I served it with pita chips and veggies. (And BTW, the dip is from Costco, all I didwas heat it up–easy peasy).
No ladies luncheon is complete without a selection of salads, and we had three. Cashew Chicken Salad, Pear & Feta Salad, and Asian Cabbage Salad. These were served with miniature croissants.
Belle’s dessert table was delectable!
We had:
Bite sized Alfajores – the bride’s favorite, a sweet sandwich cookie made with dulce de leche
Petit Fours – cubed pound cake covered with this icing, another niece made and decorated these lovelies for us
Grey Stuff – It’s delicious! Belle’s table had to have this, right?! Served two ways, in bite sized tarts and from a bowl. (Want to know how to make it – – click here for the recipe!)
Beverages
I created a beverage station on my island with a “Frozen” theme.
The only blue drink I could find to make a punch from was Blue Hawaiian Punch, which I mixed with Sprite.
The hit of the beverage table, however, was the container of ice water with a peeled carrot floating inside (you can just barely see it in the picture) and the sign with Olaf’s quote from the movie,
“Some people are worth melting for.”

Gifts fit for a princess
The ladies at our church have a tradition of givingPampered Chefshowers for brides. It is a way for us to help them stock their new kitchen with all of the tools they’ll need.
It’s also a fun way to do a shower, because you don’t need to come with a gift. The bride makes her wish list that guests can order from. Guests can also place orders for themselves, which rack up the points for the bride-to-be able to order free or discounted products as the ‘hostess’ of the shower.
We made a board with her wish list labeled, “A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes.”
No shower games, please
I don’t play shower games, unless compelled. So we ate, we shopped, we visited, and we visited, and we visited…
I hope our Disney Princess Bridal Shower gave you some ideas for your next party.
