Do you use salted or unsalted butter?

    • Janel says

I used salted, because that’s what I tend to buy, but either will work fine.

What kind of flour do you use? Selfrising or all purpose? Thanks

    • Janel says

I just use all purpose, but either would work fine.

These cookies are sooooo yummy! I try to stay away from baking cookies because they never turn out good but I wanted to give these a try. I was looking for something I could make a friend who just lost her husband. I saw this recipe on Pinterest and decided I HAD to make these cookies. I am so glad I did. Not only were they yummy but they stayed nice and soft. Thank you for sharing your recipe 🙂

There is no baking soda in the recipe. How much do you use? At least I do not see it on the list of ingredients.

Wanted to make these but also waiting for this answer. The directions say to add baking soda but baking soda isn’t in the ingredient list.

Sorry about that! 1 tsp baking soda!

FAQs

How do you make sprinkles stay on sugar cookies? ›

Make an egg wash—add pasteurized egg whites and a splash of water to a small bowl and mix with a fork until combined. Brush the tops of the cooled cookies with the egg wash and immediately add sprinkles.

Should you refrigerate cheesecake cookies? ›

How do I store cheesecake cookies? I like these cookies best chilled! Once your cookies are cooled, store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-5 days! These cookies also freeze really well and can be stored in a resealable freezer bag for up to 3 months.

Do you add sprinkles before or after baking cookies? ›

If you want to add sprinkles to cookies, cupcakes, breads, or cakes before baking, that is totally and completely ok. Add sprinkles to the tops of these baked goods right before they go into the oven. Adding sprinkles to “wet” batter is the only way to get them to stick without an additional “glue” like frosting.

Do you put sugar on sugar cookies before or after baking? ›

Using a variety of candy sprinkles and colored sugars, pour one type each into muffin pan cups. Dip cookie dough rounds in sprinkles or sugar before baking.
