Bridesmaid luncheon with Menu & Recipes

I’ve been anxiously waiting to share this party design all summer, ever since I got some gold-tone entertaining accessories and pretty new/vintage glassware. I wanted to show how you can combine vintage treasures with modern trends to get a beautiful, unique look perfect for a Bridesmaids Luncheon.

Thrift shopping is one of my favorite pastimes and I’ve collected a lovely menagerie of both vintage and replica tea cups. Many have touches of gold in the design so they look so great when paired with today’s trend of gold-toned flatware, and other accessories. I didn’t want this to be a “tea party” though, so I used the cups for a cold fruit soup course instead.

I’m also including menu recipes so you hardly have to think about anything else when planning this party! Get all the details below.

  • This chilled raspberry soup is a delicious and unique starter.
  • Next, serve this spinach & strawberry salad – fresh spinach, sliced strawberries, sugared walnuts, crumbled bacon, crumbled feta cheese, poppy seed dressing
  • These sesame chicken salad in puff pastry cups are a crown please’r. Other options are my easy chicken quicheor crunchy chicken salad with peanut dressing.
  • Set up a dessert table like the one below, and serve candies and small treats. Make a cake as the centerpiece. Use my pineapple white later cake recipe or this awesome orange layer cake recipe.

Bridesmaid Luncheon Table Setting – modern vintage

  • For the lunch table I wanted a mix-n-match look with the china pieces so I splitup the cup and saucer sets. It gives each place setting more interest don’t you think!
  • Gold dotted salad/dessert plates from HomeGoods brings unity to the settings, as well as giving the eye a rest between the layered patterns.
  • Since the china pieces are mostly in a soft, varying color palette, I used different colors of card stock for the place cards.
  • I found these small monogrammed dishes at Michael’s and thought they’d be a great addition to the table as well as a take home favor for guests. The colors coordinate with the rest of the table and they hold a gold foiled chocolate.
  • Lately I’ve been obsessed with collecting pretty glassware. I found the green hobnail glasses at World Market and the pink stems are vintage. I love how feminine and delicate they are.
  • Another mix-n-match element is the gold-toned napkin rings. It’s a set of 4 but each is a different shape. Since this is a 5 seat setting I added in another gold napkin ring with a chalkboard face plate, which I already had.
  • The guest of honor {the bride to be} sits at the head of the table and her chair gets a little detail with a mini bunting made with washi tape and twine.
  • A mixed bouquet of flowers is the centerpiece for this table and is arranged in my small white compote that has a vintage look.
  • Even the wine bottle coordinates with the table setting. Santa Margherita Pinot Grigio is the perfect accompaniment to this meal. Dress it up further with ribbon and a fabric flower from the craft store.

Dessert Table & Gift Table

  • A small dessert station is set up with a few candies, colorful macarons, and a simple cake. The cake gets dressed up with diy picks that spell out “love.”
  • I continued the use of white vintage-look dishes and vintage pieces to hold the sweets. A strategically placed tea cup makes a darling vessel to hold Sixlets!
  • A bride usually gives her bridesmaids a gift at an event like this. Small boxes wrapped in gold ribbon and coordinating ‘Thank You’ tags look pretty placed alongside the dessert offerings.
  • The gift itself can also match the decor: a gold votive candle holder & candle, a gold cuff bracelet, and pink & gold nail polish {maybe for the girls to wear on the big day}
  • Line the gift boxes with decorative scrapbook paper and add shredded paper filler for a finished look inside.

I hope you love this as much as I do, and you’re inspired to mix the old with the new. Do you have a bride in your life? Share this post with her to help her plan, and let me know what you think in the comments below.
