But I guess I tend to fly at heavier times.
746 tomorrow is still R8.

Saturdays tend to be less busy (in general). It would be pretty rare that I fly SFO-YYZ on a Saturday, and basically impossible that I'd do YYZ-SFO.
I also should say I have no experience in the red-eyes in years. I refuse to take a NA red-eye unless it's absolutely essential.

I woke up today, thought about going to YYZ, and 740 was J0 Y0. It went to Y2 at some point, but... yeah, that should not be a 223.

For the proverbial route expert....
Why in your estimation have loads fluctuated on this route? Would have thought we'd be at pre-covid level of flights and associated equipment.
Hmmmm.

I certainly can't speak for operations or RM, but when I wake up and can't buy a ticket, that suggests the problem isn't "loads".

AC YYZ to HKG Direct flights
Anyone know when AC might be coming back with direct flights between Toronto and Hong Kong? They had that on their website earlier last year for after the summer 2023, but they seemed to offlined them after a bit.
The connection one in YVR seems packed, so the demand should be there... Maybe still a labor shortage?

I suspect the Tech meltdown has at least something to do with this.

I sure hope it comes back soon cause I'm booked on YVR - HKG in late March and trying to eUp as a 35K. J cabin the past week has 1 or 2 empty seats and 2-3 people waiting to eUp from PY. AC scheduled the low density 777 (extra mini J cabin) on the day I'm flying though so as long as that keeps, odds are good.

This is likely a large part of it. With the many layoffs in the tech sector and belt tightening. I know of many companies that are on 'no travel' or severely curtailed travel/entertainment budgets. Even going to CES - several companies had skeleton crews.

When I booked today's 743 yesterday, it was J3 Y1. The earlier flight wasn't any better.
You're all trying to explain why loads are down, but I disagree with that premise.
Capacity is substantially below demand (on the days/times I travel).

CX can fly through Russian airspace.
